I applied through college or university. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Tech Mahindra (Indore) in Mar 2014
Interview
There were five rounds.
1) Aptitude.
2) Essay writing.
3) Extempore
4) Technical round.
5) HR.
1) Aptitude:
The online aptitude contained 170 questions where we had to solve in 80mins. The questions were divided into English, Quantitative and non-verbal reasoning. There is sectional cutoff so try not to leave any question. Start with English. That will help a lot in time management.
2 and 3) Essay writing and Extempore
Essay writing and Extempore are not elimination round but it plays a very important role in selection process. If the candidate's essay is not grammatically or logically correct then the candidate may get eliminated in spite of performing good in technical. They will give you one topic and you need to write on the spot of about 2 pages.
In Extempore they are checking for fluency and confidence
4) Technical:
This round is completely based on the skill-sets that you write in your resume. The questions asked varied between easy to intermediate level. You are expected to answer the questions quickly without hesitation.
5) HR:
This round is where more than you, your intelligence, presence of mind and personality speaks. The HR personality may ask you questions based on different areas. It may be from mathematics, analytical, hobbies or English.
