I was connected to Tempus Labs via a third-party recruiter. I had an initial screen via a video call and document sharing over Google Docs. I was given separate coding tests during the initial screen, the on-site interview, and remotely via Codility. I subsequently had an on-site interview at their WeWork office which for a number of reasons turned out to be the most dysfunctional interview that I had attended in a long time. For one, I was supposed to have a laptop made available to me by the company for a programming test, but none was available. No video calling mechanism was provided to call the Chicago based interviewers from New York as was necessary. I had to end up using my own cell phone for this after installing an app. A whiteboard was expected to be available for a whiteboard exercise, but there wasn't one in the room, and I was told to come back another day for this whiteboard interview. On the day of the planned whiteboard interview, I was informed under two hours before it that it had to be canceled because an interviewer was out sick. Why wasn't I informed earlier? By then I had already left home and was commuting. I asked via the recruiter for a reimbursement of the train fare expenses which I did not receive. By this time I felt personally disrespected, and so I exited the interview process.
