Weird, scam interview process. It started off seemingly normal with an 30 minute introduction phone screen. I moved up in the process and had a 2nd interview with the UX Lead.
She mentioned I would need to do a design challenge and they were still finalizing the details for that. After 2nd interview, I got another invitation for a quick 15 minute interview to discuss the specifics of the design challenge.
I ended up not being able to make it and asked them to just email me the details about the design challenge to do. They called me, saying it was "easier". How is calling easier than emailing?
Anyways, this is where things got weird. Rather than me doing a mock project for the design challenge, like almost all design challenges for interviews are, they wanted to to do one where I created brand new designs for Texas Capital Bank's consumer division.
I was to design several web pages, create branding kit, and have real copywriting in the designs
I asked if they could send me all the details in writing so I could have it on hand for reference, they said no. I should just take notes and ask if I have questions.
....this is a scam.
They want me to create designs, then not hire me, then steal my designs to use.
Plus, for the job, they said they required being in the office 5 days a week. Most UX jobs are hybrid or fully remote now. Get with the times!
