Applied on Indeed. Received an invitation to interview at a location in the county. The first meeting, the interviewer asked about why I wanted to be insurance, my childhood upbringing, my parents, my family life, what motivates (the only answer they want is money). A week went by and he asked to meet again. This time there was a second person in the interview. He asked the same questions but this time he threw in a red flag - he asked about what religion I'm apart of and where do I go to church. That's a law violation and I withdrew from consideration after leaving that interview. The role is 1099, they send you to Waco for training, you come up with your own schedule. This is not a role for a young person or someone just starting in insurance. They expect you to hit the ground running after training which isn't reasonable for a new agent. Offices were extremely outdated. The atmosphere was very conservative and old-fashioned. They meet every customer in their home so you cannot make a sale over the phone. Listen very carefully during interviews and pay attention the atmosphere and people you interact.

Initial Phone Screening interview followed by online assessment before in person interview with district manager. The questions were rather informal to assess if you were a good fit. The online assessment was more of a personality assessment.

Had 4 interviews, including a personality test and a meeting with my spouse which seemed more like the agency manager asking my spouse for permission to allow me to work there, than to inform us both of what to expect with several weeklong training out of town and monthly meetings that might require an overnight stay out of town.
