Tremendous waste of time, energy, and effort to attempt to get a position here. You won't get hired unless you're a Tech alumn, a long-time local of Lubbock, and/or know the right somebody. I was subjected to multiple (difficult, time-consuming) interviews for two very different administrative positions and after months of waiting and back-and-forth, did not get the job in both cases. In the second case, I had to find out on my own by logging into their website, as the person in charge of my hiring was unresponsive, disorganized, and didn't even bother to send me a generic e-mail notifying me.
Judging purely by the interview process, Tech is a discourteous, unprofessional employer bound by internal hiring requirements (common at state universities and other state agencies) that they interview and consider "multiple" candidates (while actually knowing at the front of the process who they really want to hire and thus, wasting your time unless you happen to be that magical person).
Do you want to be subjected to a triathlon of an interview process, just because? Do you like the surprise of being a filler candidate? Then applying here might be for you!
If you insist on trying your chances at Tech, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere and not treating this as your primary job lead. Even if you are one of the lucky hires, it will still take months and the compensation will be quite low relative to industry.
