Interview
I was contacted by a Recruitment Agency regarding opportunities at The Berkeley Partnership (TBP). The Agency undertook an initial screening over the phone to understand, at high level, my past experience and my current aspirations. I was then asked to attend face to face interviews, as per the following:
I1: Interview with one Partner which was focused on past experience, and traditional competence questions. I was also given plenty of time in the interview to also ask questions.
I2: Interview with two Partners, focussed on two of my past projects. Timings were quite strict (10 minutes per presentation) followed by 20-30 minutes of questions and discussion. Again I was given plenty of time to ask as many questions as I wanted to at the end of the interview.
I3: Case study based interview with one partner and the Recruitment Lead. It was a long (3+ hour session) but structured and broken up into lots of different parts so went quite quickly. No preparation required for this interview. The purpose of this interview is to give TBP a glimpse of how you approach a new project and gives you a glimpse of how you are supported by a listening partner when you work on a project.
In addition to the interviews, I had to complete an online critical thinking test and a quick personality questionnaire.
The overall process took about 2 months (May-June 2019) and was very efficient. My schedule and timeframes were always taken into consideration. All my questions were answered throughout the process and I was never made to feel rushed or pressurised. Before making a final decision, TBP even arranged for me to meet some consultants informally, for any final questions!

Overall I found the interview process very smooth and engaging. The recruitment team were very responsive provided expedient updates at every stage.
The end to end process consisted of 3 rounds of interviews.
Round 1 - A 1 hour competency based interview reviewing the highlights of your CV experience with a partner. Due to Covid restrictions this round was over Zoom.
Round 2 - A more in-depth review of 2 specific project you have been involved in with a Q&A after each project discussion. Interview took place with 2 partners and took ~2hours. Again due to Covid restrictions this round was over Zoom
Round 3 - Face to face case study interview with 1 partner and recruitment manager using an anonymised Berkeley project. Overall this round took ~3 hours
