This is a good description of our old interview process. However, it was recently changed. In the new process, we will be looking to understand your skills and talents in a range of areas including your motivation and interests, your project management and consulting skills and other behavioural competencies. We also know that you are making a decision about us too, and so encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to.
The steps in our process are as follows:
1. Telephone interview. A 20-30 minute telephone interview conducted by our People Manager or by one of our recruitment agencies if you have applied through this route. We will explore both your educational qualifications and the type and scope of your consulting experience to check you meet our minimum criteria.
2. First interview. A one and half hour interview with one of our partners at our offices in Chancery Lane. In this interview we will explore what motivates you in your work. It is also an opportunity to ask questions and find out as much as you can about what it’s like working for Berkeley.
3. Second interview. An in-depth technical interview lasting 1.5 hours with two of our partners, held at our offices. Your consulting and project management skills and experience will be explored in detail at this interview. If successful at this stage, we will invite you to complete two online assessments.
4. Final interview. A half day case study based on the kinds of assignments Berkeley consultants are engaged on. The case study consists of some individual work, a client role play, some written work and a discussion with one of our partners. The aim is to see how you approach consulting assignments and how you interact with clients. There is also an opportunity for a final, informal, wrap up with one of our partners.
