I interviewed for a role at Blackstone, progressing through several rounds — first with a VP, then with another VP, an Associate, and an Assistant VP. The final stage was with HR, who told me I’d receive an outcome within a day. Unfortunately, despite following up a week later, I never received any response.
This lack of communication was very disappointing, especially given the seniority of the role and the time I dedicated to the process. At the very least, candidates deserve a timely update or feedback. A simple email would have taken a minute and demonstrated professionalism and respect.
Given my experience, I found the process unprofessional for a firm of this size and reputation. I hope they improve their candidate communication in the future, as the interviews themselves were engaging and well-structured, but the lack of closure left a very negative impression.
