I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at The Blackstone Group (New York, NY) in Jan 2020
Interview
A former colleague of mine forwarded my resume to the hiring manager. I was first referred to HR for a few screening calls and the HR person set up the first phone interview with the hiring manger.
A couple of months later, the HR person invited me to come in and meet the hiring MD, a Senior MD, and two SVPs on the team. An HR director also met with me. The meeting was in a small, very warm, conference room near the first floor private lobby.
A couple of weeks after the interview, the MD responded to my follow up inquiries explaining that the job was on hold as the pandemic would require a new strategy and the proposed job would likely change.

Pre screening call with HR then invited to in person interview at their office with 3 people for the first round. Company does not tell you your results directly but if you are not invited to the next round, you assume you got rejected.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at The Blackstone Group (London, England) in Jul 2024
Interview
Applied through recruiter. The process took almost 8 weeks, consisted of one screening round with HR, one short round with hiring manager and three round with seniors. Overall the process is standard and people were nice, except one interviewer changed interview time very last minute and left very little time to get ready, and seemed that never read my CV, which is a bit arrogant, and HR never replies anything after final round.
It was the standard HR interview followed up with an interview by employees the role would be reporting to, which was odd. The employees were not prepared and appeared unsure of what to ask.
