I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at The Blackstone Group (Miami, FL) in Feb 2026
Interview
Interview Process
Multiple rounds of virtual interviews with AVPs covering technical topics ASC 820 fair value frameworks, DCF/WACC methodology, and PE portfolio valuation approaches, followed by an in-office, supervised case study. The case study was done on-site under observation, then immediately followed by a 1-on-1 review where you walk through your work and defend your assumptions. Expect it to be pressure-tested.
The Problem: Recruiter Communication
After completing the full process, including traveling to the office for the case study, it took 8 weeks to receive any follow-up from HR/recruiting. No update, no timeline, nothing. For a firm of this caliber putting candidates through this level of effort, that turnaround is not acceptable. When they did finally reach out, it was a phone call to deliver the rejection, which is at least more than most firms do.
Tips for Future Candidates
Be sharp on ASC 820 Level 1/2/3 and its application in a PE fund context
Know your DCF cold, you will defend your assumptions in real time
The case study is supervised and in-person — treat it like an exam, not a take-home. Factor in significant time investment before committing to the process
Bottom Line
Rigorous process that tests your technical depth seriously. The in-office supervised case study is a meaningful commitment. The 8-week silence from recruiting after completing everything is a real issue and candidates deserve better transparency on timeline.

Seven to eight rounds of interview (online and in person) after a written test, ghosted after the 8th round. Never heard back from the HR nor the interviewers, not sure what happened.
