I applied online, and immediately got an email from the company stating the number I should call to set up an interview. Needless to say, I was pretty excited. I called in and got the Assistant manager, and we set up an interview time for the following Wednesday. When I get to the store (2 minutes early, lets say), the manager is tied up helping customers so he asked me to have another girl print out my application. He said he would get to me asap. 7-10 minutes later he tells me we can start the interview... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORE, while he "keeps an eye on" his employees because they were so understaffed and I guess he obviously didn't have anyone he could rely on to watch the store while he was "gone". I was fine with that at the time, so we started the interview.
He asked me about my schooling, namely, he said that "a double major must be pretty time consuming" (which it really isn't, i'm only taking 15 credit hours this semester.. not a lot!) He goes on to ask me about my previous job accomplishments (employee of the month) and promotions (sales associate to team lead/shift supervisor). Then he asked me about what "a typical day in the life of "me" is like at school, so I tell him. Then he asked if I had anything he should ask me. Then he said he would call me within the next couple days about the next step in the hiring process. Then the interview was over. The whole ACTUAL interview took about 5-7 minutes.
The worst part was, I never heard from him. I called back the next Wednesday to follow-up and I didn't get an answer. Then, about 3 days later I called and the store manager answered, explained he had just gotten back from vacation and they would be making hiring decisions within the next couple of days, and I would get an email back letting me know.
I never got an email back, or a call, or anything.
Worst interview ever... in the middle of a busy, understaffed store that was obviously unreliably staffed as well. Oh well. Their loss, I would've excelled at that job.
