I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Children's Place (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2008
Interview
I applied to The Children's Place through a job fair at school. A week later I received a call asking me to come in for an interview. Their uniform is black top black bottom so that's what I wore. I got there and the assistant manager told me that they were a staff short that day so we would have the interview by the cash register. It was two floors so another assistant manager was working downstairs while also interviewing someone else. She didn't really ask me questions instead telling me about the store, what my responsibiliies would be, how we deal with situations, etc. After 15 minutes or so it started getting busy and she was ringing up a customer and there were customers asking if they can use the fitting room so she asked me nicely if I could help them and gave me the keys to open the room. She was still ringing up customers after helping other customers out so I went around and recovered some tables, folding the messed up clothing. When the store was empty she thanked me and said to come back on a certain date with 3 different kind of IDs like passport, DL, school, and also a check where I want my pay to be deposited. When I left there I was a little confused, and realized I just got the job.
