I had a really nice chat with an HR gal, it was very pleasant and gave me a positive outlook on working for the company. We discussed my education, qualifications and career goals and they all seemed to be in alignment. Pay rate was brought up and she assured me because I had a 4 year degree for a position that did not require it that they would probably be able to offer me the higher rate which was still low ($17/hr) but from what I understood would go up after a probationary period which was okay for me. They called to extend an offer a few days later at the lower rate ($15). I was audibly disappointed and tried to negotiate but she was firm at $15 and said she could "maaaybe get me $16" It was insulting! If she had told me in the interview that it was $15 I would've stopped right then. What a waste of time.
