I suspect that either Emmes was trying the meet a minority interview quota for their government contracts for a position they'd already secretly filled, or that the project management director that I interviewed with was very high. He acted super weird during the entire interview, only showing half his face and tilting his camera partially at the ceiling. Over the course of an hour interview, he only asked me a total 5 weirdly phrased questions, and then talked about his experience at the company for about 35 minutes. All of his questions were in a weird indirect second-person narration style... "I wonder how she handled that project type?" and "Did she typically have unique or boilerplate projects?" Almost as if he was saying what he was thinking, but didn't realize he was talking out loud. I would hear the odd question and ask him to repeat it, then he'd rephrase the question for normal conversation. He also didn't seem prepared for the interview and kept trying to fill up the time by talking about his background. I kept asking him if he had more questions or if he could elaborate on the position, but he kept saying no or changing the subject, so I tried my best to showcase my experience. It was clear from the start of the interview that he had no interest in me as a candidate, hence my minority interview quota theory.
