I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Oct 2012
Interview
Initial interview was over the phone with a representative inputting my responses into a computer. The questions were mainly concerning my ability to work with people and what i would do in a circumstance if i observed another associate not working, on the phone, being rude to customers, etc... I was asked multiple times if i was comfortable being on my feet for the duration of my shift and lifting/ moving heavy objects. The in-person interview was in a small office with one of the assistant managers. She was very nice and told me not to be nervous with her as the questions she was going to ask were simply to see which position i would best qualify for. The questions were scenarios and hypothetical situations to see how i would act in one of these situations. A few of the questions asked about my experiences in the past and how i dealt with these problems. After the interview i was given a form to take and have a drug and background test done. After i passed the drug and background test i was contacted within 3 days to set up my final meeting in which i was offered a position and discussed my availability and desired pay rate.
