      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot

      Interview

I applied online and then I was called after some time had passed (week to a month, don't remember). They asked me a series of pre-interview questions. That were fairly situational such as "what would you do if a customer....?" A couple of days after the pre-questioning, they sent me an email, scheduling an interview. I got there for the first interview a good fifteen minutes late because I went to the wrong home depot, but no one was present in the interview room so there was no real penalty. When the interviewer showed up, I greeted him and we sat in a small sort of office. One-on-one face to face interaction with your average interview questions, "Why should we hire you?" "What can you bring to our store?" But wait, there was more! I had a second interview a week later with the manager instead of a supervisor and he was basically asking about the experience I had with Hardware products and surveying how badly I wanted the job. This time he was late or rather a little busy I should say. I passed the first and the second was sort of the manager checking the supervisor's work. Not too difficult of an interviewing process the people are relatively laid back and the environment wasn't very intimidating.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Washington, PA) in Feb 2022

      Interview

I originally applied for a design position and two days later I was offered an interview for the hardware sales associate position and turned it down. If this was a position I was interested in, I would have applied for it. The position offered was completely irrelevant and tells me that the company was just trying to fill a slot. Not to mention, with years of management and design experience, I felt overqualified for a sales position and would likely just be bored to death. Home Depot now keeps offering interviews for other irrelevant positions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I declined the interview as it would have been a waste of everyone's time.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Dec 2020

      Interview

I was initially contacted by email for a phone interview. It took a few emails back and forth to schedule a time as the website they were using to book appointments was not set up properly. I finally booked a time and I was screened as a candidate. I was then offered a video chat interview on another date. On the date of the interview, I had set the chat up in advance, however, no one entered the video call. I recieved a phone call 15 minutes after my scheduled interview time saying that my interview would be conducted over the phone because my interviewer was not at work that day.

Very straight forward and they actually teach you things about their process during the interview. simple questions about how to help customers and different scenarios that can come up. They teach you what he 8 core values are and how you can make an impact on them. Other questions they may ask you is what your hobbies are and what experience you have with home improvement.
