They were very communicative and prompt at first. I had, in pretty quick succession, an HR screening and then three interviews with hiring committee head, committee, and hiring manager. This culminated in being asked to produce an assignment with a very quick turnaround, one which ended up taking my evenings for the entire timeline given as I work full time. I received no acknowledgement of submitting the assignment until I followed up a week later to make sure that it was received. I then received no further contact from JAX at all.
Four interviews and a very time-consuming assignment - done with no compensation - is a tremendous investment of time to not even be given the dignity of any kind of response. Both giving an assignment with that timeline and ghosting your applicants are horrible hiring practices. I have made sure my network knows to stay away from JAX, which is a shame, as the organization does really good work - but how you treat applicants, especially finalists, is a reflection on you would treat them as employees.
