Hiring Exercise: As part of your team’s data ground truthing, one of your first assignments is to conduct a quick baselining of social vulnerability factors in your city. Using the attached dataset of select demographic and socioeconomic variables derived from the CDC/ATSDR’s social vulnerability index, conduct an analysis of the census tracts within your city and present key insights based on your analysis. For this assignment, limit the analysis to the census tracts within one of your city’s counties, as identified by the ‘State’ and ‘County’ fields in the dataset. You are welcome to combine the provided data with additional data if helpful for your analysis. Please prepare a short presentation (i.e. a slide deck of no more than 10 slides, a Word document, Google doc, or PDF of no more than 5 pages) that includes your methodology/approach/calculations, 2-3 data visualizations, and 2-3 policy insights based on your analysis of the dataset. It is intended that this exercise will take roughly two hours to complete.
