Process was straightforward and well organized. However, it was obvious the hiring manager was referring to a strict list of questions and not listening to answers. Twice, my answers from the previous question answered the next question. And they didn't seem to notice. Also indicated loyalty to someone who has worked with them since before merger who would report to me. I sensed politics was going to be a "thing" - not good. Everyone was nice but overly complimentary at every answer which was a little cringe worthy. The very polite rejection letter gave zero useful feedback. Just that it was "very competitive" - whatever that means. Got email couple days later asking for feedback on their process. I guess feedback only goes one way? Why would I spend one more minute of my life on your company if our relationship is not moving forward? ? At any rate, it was obvious my over 40 yo advanced age was part of why I was not hired for that team.
