Interview
Applied online and almost instantly got an interview. While in the process of scheduling my first interview somebody else from The Mill reached out via LinkedIn to see if I wanted to interview.
First interview was a screener with a recruiter who claimed to not know the salary range for the role.
Second interview was with the head of production and head of their equivalent of HR. Let me tell you it was one of the most bizarre interview experiences of my life. You know when somebody talks forever but says nothing at the same time? It was like that.
They were unclear in all of the answers to my questions and couldn’t really speak to the role and it’s expectations. I’ve previously worked at agencies that don’t have their stuff together so the interview was a major red flag.
For example when I posed a question about how expectations are communicated and how success is measured, they just rambled about how promotions are super common. Like that’s great to hear but also wasn’t what I asked.

Interview
I found the entire process to be extremely disrespectful. I went through 4 rounds of interviews, each one telling me how much the other people have liked me. Only to meet with the head of the department a week later, and it sounded like she doesn't remember ever talking to me. Felt sleazy.

Other than asking me about my background, I didn't feel like the level of interviewing progressed with each round. It was all very casual and I didn't get the sense they knew anything about me from the interview.
