      Style and Editorial Director Interview

      Jul 12, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The RealReal (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I knew the chief merchant so the interview was basically just a formality. I was contracted in for a job as a stylist in their studio, then they liked my work and interviewed me based on that work day. They, then, used that (8 hour) work day as a retroactive "test" and never paid me for that day - though we had agreed (Via email) on a hefty day rate. I was thrilled to be offered a full time job based on one day of work, so I took it - but in hindsight I should have known better.
