      Senior Product Manager Interview

      Jun 23, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at The RealReal (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2020

      Interview

1, 30 min call with a recruiter 1, 45 call with the hiring manager 1, onsite panel of interviews (6-7 different people), composed of stakeholders the role would be set to interact with (dev, design, product, business) My experience with the recruiter was probably one of the worst I ever had while job hunting. Borderline professional; I always had to be the one reaching out. She/He missed our first call, never followed up with feedback, extremely hands off. Even after the onsite, while waiting for the decision (felt good as all the interviews had gone well) I had to reach out 5 time, even trying to get in touch with her/him via different emails and phone numbers (by fear of being filtered) before I finally got an email saying that due to the rise of the pandemic, the position was being put on hold but that my feedback was all positive. For a public company, it really does not showcase the best image for the recruiting process. Such a frustrating experience, especially when all the people I interacted inside the company super nice and relevant. My advice, invest in key hiring functions, focusing on defining how to attract talent and maybe add some accountability to the recruiting team.
