      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The RealReal in Nov 2020

      Interview

      1) Initial screening with recruiter 2) Interview with Vendor Sales Manager 3) Interview with Senior Manager, Enterprise Vendor Sales I was incredibly excited to interview with The RealReal, as they’re an innovative and consumer driven company, but many of the other interviews and reviews stand true. The recruiter dropped the ball various times; starting with calling me 30 minutes after our scheduled phone interview. In sum, I had 3 interviews over the course of 2 months and never received a courtesy confirmation that they wouldn’t be moving forward with my candidacy. I know the idea of working for a company like The RealReal is glamorous and a first choice for many fashion industry professionals going through the application and interview process (as it was for me). Through my conversations with the employees, they are moving more towards a corporate model instead of the consumer consignment model that they were built on. This comes with its own pros and cons, but I will say that I got the feeling that they value candidates who come from a traditional, enterprise background due to this shift. My tip: stay active in your job search and don’t rest your laurels on this company. It’s a pleasant surprise if you move forward in the interview process, but don’t expect anything from The RealReal.
