Applied to Chinatown Corps Community Center. I was contacted by the lady who left a voicemail with a bad English accent. I had expected it from this center, but kept an open-mind. I didn't like that she had set the day and time that was most convenient for her, which leaves me with no option. I feel they should fire her and everyone who run the place since they are dead-weight. The purpose of the position is to provide cross culture communication so being fluent in both culture and language are a must, specially in English writing, as you will have to craft professional memorandums and communicate through letter writings to public officials. On top of that, you have to have some connection with the Christian religion. Just because I'm Chinese doesn't means I'll automatically be hired. Not all Chinese like each other, after disclosing to her about my multicultural background. She even have the nerves to lecture me about my English writing skills when she never seen my work. FYI, if she had spoken better English, she wouldn't have to find someone to make her job easy. It's already a hard job with lots of responsibilities and because of her lack of English skills is only going to bring you down with her. Coming to the interview was a huge mistake so, don't waste your time with this place if you don't want to become an educated working poor.
