      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ThoughtExchange

      Interview

I found the job on linked in and subsequently sent in an email application, I did receive a quick response, then I was asked to participate in a zoom interview with 2 other members. They asked a variety of questions based on my expertise. I asked some challenging questions and did not feel the employer was really interested in doing diversity and inclusion work but was rather creating a position reactively because they were in hot water.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked about my background in diversity work.

Hello, thanks for sharing feedback from your interview. In 2020, we made a commitment as a company to be Anti-Racist company, not because we were in hot water because it was the right thing to do. Check more details on this from a post in 2021 here: (https://www.bcbusiness.ca/A-white-BC-tech-CEO-named-Dave-joins-the-anti-racism-conversation) Stemming from that decision, we hired a “Head of Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” and we knew to truly make an impact on this work internally, with our customers and in our product, we need to bring in someone who had a strong background in DE&I and justice work. We ended up making two incredible hires to support these efforts, led by the very seasoned expert Karen Cragg-Milne, who is currently our Head of AR, DEI.
