Great process, fantastic recruiter. Very thorough and transparent about next steps. The calls were in-depth, but not super difficult. A lot of vibe checks with some technical strategy questions. They were very clear about what they were looking for and made sure that was communicated well.

Question 1
What's your experience managing a global community with regards to people intiatives?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thumbtack (Ban Phone Savang) in Jun 2015
Interview
Had a phone screening that was relatively straight forward. I felt like the person interviewing me wasn't really paying attention or didn't have my resume in front of him, which was obnoxious.
I was then sent over a Community Manager test. One of the things that companies like this need to realize is that many Community/Social Media specialists are not comfortable providing them with intellectual property. Having someone fresh out a social strategy is requesting work of someone...so don't be surprised when you get something that is slightly on the conservative creative side. If you really want to see us get creative then offer to at the very least pay us something first. You wouldn't ask a plumber to fix one toilet for free to gauge how well they do their job; this is no different.
