At the beginning, the process was good. I found it odd from the beginning that the recruiter never called me to provide background on the role, Thumbtack, or the interview process. I had to ask her all of these questions via email. My recruiting coordinator was SUPER responsive and helpful. After the first round, when I asked the recruiter about what the compensation range was looking like, she had no answer for me, which I found odd. I continued with the interview process. I spent 5 hours total with interviewers. All interviewers were great and I enjoyed my conversations. However, I had to follow up with the recruiter for an update on a decision, only to receive her out of office message. She got back to me and said she was waiting on the team. The next day, I received an email rejection from her. I found this extremely rude and unprofessional that after making it to the final round of interviews and spending a significant amount of time interviewing I was declined via email and not a phone call. She also told me that another candidate had already accepted an offer. This very much rubbed me the wrong way, especially after having experience in recruiting organizations.
