Instead of a typical initial email from a recruiter, I got a direct email (not thru LinkedIn) from the hiring manager. I thought that was pretty unique and refreshing. We scheduled a quick informal chat that I thought was just going to be a getting to know each other call -- but she quickly shifted to asking me about my accomplishments as a product manager and made up her mind about me after 10 minutes. On one hand I'm glad that it was a quick one and done, but on the other hand I feel like I wasn't really given a chance to demonstrate that I was more than qualified for the role.
