I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack
Interview
Possibly the worst candidate experience I’ve had yet. Recruiter was 10 minutes late to the first call with no heads up and I had to email her. After passing the technical interview, there was radio silence for a significant period of time until I reached back out at which point a different and significantly more junior role was suggested. I asked for a more senior role analogous to the role I was interviewing for and that was provided which begs the question of why that wasn’t suggested in the first place. I responded with my interest which was once again met with radio silence until I reached out. At different points in time, the recruiter also just said “I’ll give you a call on either x or y day” with no regards to my availability.

Question 1
SQL screen, case study, etc. The usual gauntlet for analytics interviews
Recruiter introduced the team and the company, as well as the hiring process. He did not ask me to go through my resume or have any background questions for me.
Phone Interview: it began from hiring manager introducing herself, then walking through my experience, and ending with me asking questions. The whole process is respectful and full of questions. However, in the process I realized the team's focus was on pricing, an area that isn't my strength.

Question 1
Asking about work experience in my current company, previous company, what do I know about Thumbtack.
Straightforward. Started with a recruiter screen, takehome, and a subsequent panel with the hiring manager.
Did the takehome and got rejected. Asked for feedback and received no response. Poor experience overall. Very disappointing.
