I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Singapore) in Nov 2022
Interview
Worst recruiting experience I've ever had. The interviewer (Hiring Manager) was 20 minutes late for a 45 minutes interview. The first question was if I would be comfortable taking the interview in Mandarin. After I said no, it all went downhill from there. He asked 2 questions and wrapped up the call in 10 minutes. Culture-wise definitely felt very political, cutthroat, and messy. In a span of 24 hours, I was approached by 3 different recruiters for their respective roles. As you aren't allowed to interview for more than 1 position at a time, the last recruiter quickly called me after realizing that I had initial calls lined up and forcefully scheduled the next round to prevent others from considering my profile. That was the fastest I've seen this recruiter work as afterward, I had to spend 1 week actively following up with the recruiter on the outcome, who could not even share the scope of work, nor context of the interview.
