I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Mountain View, CA) in Mar 2025
Interview
Two Interviews, both are in the format of 20 mins digging past projects, 20 mins ML question, 20 mins leetcodes.
Leetcode question were easy too me, two easy question and one medium in two interviews. Depends on team and interviewer, the style of past project discussion and ML question is not easy. You would need a very detailed understanding of your project as well as ML fundamentals.

Question 1
ML questions include the pro and con of AUC and F1 score, difference between transformer and RNN, hand write cross entropy loss, Adam optimizer implementation detail, etc.
2 technical rounds, 1 HR round. Went through resume, did LC med for both rounds with lots of ML theory qns (requiring the use of math). Team based questions testing your intuition on how you would design examples of systems

ML Theory - Regularisation, Logistic regression, Optimisation, Neural networks deep dive
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok (Singapore)
Interview
3 rounds technical interview, each 1 hour long
1st - Direct mentor (interview in chinese)
2nd - Direct team lead (interview in chinese)
3rd - Direct hiring manager (interview in english, based overseas)
It began with self-introduction and past projects. Then the interviewer asked a few questions about the project. Then ML coding test. For me it was CLIP at first. I wasn't able to do this, so the interviewer changed it to a naive CNN.
