Interview
The interview process at TikTok was structured and efficient. I first had a recruiter screen where we discussed my background and what I was looking for. Then I had a technical screen with a frontend engineer that involved a live coding challenge using JavaScript and React. After passing that, I moved to the onsite (virtual), which consisted of 3 rounds: system design (frontend focus), coding, and behavioral. The interviewers were professional, and the problems were challenging but fair. Overall, the process took around 3 weeks.

Q: How would you build a custom hook to fetch data from an API in React?
Q: How would you design a live chat widget that updates messages in real time and is embeddable on any website?
Interviewer was very nice, but a bit hard to understand. He asked questions on past projects that I worked on, especially the technical aspects. He also asked questions on frontend theory, and finally asked a coding questions which was done live.
5 rounds interview. Did leetcode and explain before the real questions. Questions were mainly about what you have done before. Only 10% questions were about the frontend. Will send email to schedule the interview time, but mostly at night
