I applied online. I interviewed at Tillys (Walnut Creek, CA) in May 2016
Interview
It was a group interview with about 5 other people. I wore black ripped jeans, white vans, a tank top, and a flannel. One girl was blonde, about 17, wearing a floral romper, there were two boys, probably about 16, or 17, wearing button up shirts and shorts and vans I think. And two other older girls didn't wear anything that looked like Tilly's style. One of them barely spoke English. We all gathered at the front of the store until the manager and her assistant brought us into the back room to ask us questions. We all sat on benches. They asked us questions they had from clipboards. I thought we would all have a chance to answer the questions, but it was mostly who ever could answer fastest, which was usually the blonde romper girl. After the interview, the manager said she would definitely be emailing us later that day to say whether he had gotten the job or not. It's been over a week and I still haven't gotten an email. I was still supposed to get an email even if I didn't get the job.. so I don't know what happened.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How important do you think is personal image when selling?
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!

Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
