I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tillys (Geneva, IL) in May 2016
Interview
Applied online, was emailed within a few days, set up the interview through their "new" online program, and interviewed in person. It was a group interview with 6 candidates total, and was a very casual question and answer process between us and an Assistant Manager. It was very laid back and conversational. After the Q&A portion, we went into the store area and were asked to put together an outfit for a given situation- some of us were told "Mom shopping for her 18 year old son's birthday", and others were given "Grandma shopping for her 12 year old granddaughter". After a few minutes of collecting merchandise, we each briefly went over what we'd picked out, and then it was over. We were told that at least one more group interview was set to take place before anyone would hear back. He made it sound like we'd be contacted through the new software, although it's been about 2 weeks and I haven't been notified.
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!

Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
