I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tillys (Riverside, CA) in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied online and then they emailed me back about time slots for interviews. It was a group interview. It was a laid back atmosphere which I liked. Before the interview, I had a conversation with the rest of the interviewees and they were cool. The manager asked us personality questions during the interview and she also asked us about customer service. Don't be a try hard because your try hard answers won't be the right answer. The manager kept correcting all of us. I think she already had the people she was going to hire from the first interview that day. At the end of the interview she told us to go find an outfit in the store and try to sell it to her. That part was fun. Be prepared to know what to add to the outfit for a specific situation. For example she might ask," what could you add to that outfit to dress it up?" Or,"what could you put on top of that outfit?" She told all of us that if we got the job, she would email us by the end of the week. None of us got hired.
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!

Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
