I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Tillys (Goleta, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was a group interview of about 12 people, including myself. They asked you pretty easy questions - nothing too difficult to answer. But the MOST important thing is to make sure you're the first to answer every question! Make sure they remember you! And definitely do some research beforehand. Afterwards, they pulled 4 of us aside for "follow up questions." The manager started asking us about our schedules and some other interview questions. Then she said she would call by the end of the week to let us know if we got the job. All in all, you'll have a good shot at getting the job if you talk the most out of the group and have a good attitude/personality. Good luck!
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
