I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tillys (Pensacola, FL) in Mar 2014
Interview
The interview process was very quick and straightforward. I brought an application into the store about a week prior to the interview and received a phone call asking me to come in. The interview ended up being a group interview with five people including myself. The questions asked were very basic and had to do with personal work experience, education, strengths/weaknesses, etc. After about 20 minutes of the group interview we were asked to go pick an outfit for a certain occasion (in this case a music festival) and then met back in the interview room and "sold" them to the manager. Once everyone has completed they let all but two of us go, posing it as needing more information from the two they asked to stay, and ended up offering both of us the job on the spot.
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!

Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
