I applied in-person. I interviewed at Tillys (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was a group interview. The store manager and the assistant manager set us all down and asked a bunch of questions. Then we did a role play where we had to make outfits and sell them to one another.

Question 1
Normal questions like how well Is your customer service? What's your fashion inspiration? How long have you worked in retail? What's the best way to prevent theft?
It was held as a group interview, fairly easy. The hardest part was the sales pitch for an item in the store. Everyone in the group answered the same questions one at a time. There were around 6-8 people in each group.
Super calm and friendly! Felt like such a nice conversation and felt like I was part of the team already, they really listened to me. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and I did!

Question 1
If an item isn’t selling, how would you ensure it did?
Occurred in a group setting. I always recommend being very respectful, do not speak over others, but when you can add after another interviewees turn, try to include your own response.
