Interview
I was reached out to by the VP, Talent Acquisition via LinkedIn for a confidential role. I had a call with said VP and moved on to a call with the hiring manager (Director, Employee Experience), then onto calls with the VP, People and SVP, Talent. I received feedback that all of my calls went well. This whole process took about a month. I was then asked to have a follow up call with the hiring manager to discuss some changes to the role (title change from People Operations Manager to Employee Experience Manager), and was told they opened the role to applications as a formality and was asked to apply via Workday. During this call we aligned on a start date and talked about the 30/60/90 day plan for start. I was also told that the Chief People Officer was out of office, but that upon their return a salary amount and offer would be finalized. I was told that they planned to send out the offer by end of week the following week. I waited for confirmation the next week, anticipating receiving an offer after 5 positive calls with the team, but did not hear back. I reached out via email to check in and was told that they moved on to applicants that had applied to the posting they only recently opened and "apologize[d] for any confusion regarding the status of your application". It was a very unfortunate experience, I definitely felt mislead by the team.
(Edit on 9/5) This role was reposted on LinkedIn a couple of days ago. Clearly even after "an unusually high volume of applicants" they received three weeks ago "whose skills and experiences very closely match the specific requirements we are seeking for our open role" they still did not identify a candidate. Please be cautious if applying to this role.

Interview
I originally applied to this role several months ago and had a phone screen with the recruiter. They were transparent about the company, perks and benefits, why the role is open, and what they were looking for with the role. The only item that was misleading at that stage was they asked for a comp range and stated they believed the company would have no problem meeting it, to then be informed after the phone screen that the range was no possible and they wouldn't move forward with me because of that. A month or so went by after that and I received outreach from the same recruiter asking me if I would be interested in connecting again on the role as they decided to uplevel it to a Senior Manager & felt it would align with my comp and interests better. After agreeing, I thought I would have another phone screen with the recruiter to understand how the role changed, but instead was immediately interviewing with the hiring manager. Overall that conversation went well, but when I asked the hiring manager more specifics on how the role was being upleveled, they seemed a little confused and said it was really just more so just a title change to get the right people in the door instead of applicants looking for something else. Was disappointed to learn this, as well as finding out that the compensation was not increased much considering I was told this was an upleveled role. Despite these factors, I continued the process and was told they wanted to get me scheduled ASAP to interview with the next couple of interviewers in the process. The interviews were scheduled and then promptly cancelled less than 48 hours after I received invites (and 24 hours prior to interviews taking place) with the rationale being that they actually offered the role to someone else. Really disappointed with how this ended and felt incredibly lead on.
