3 technical rounds of easy/medium LC questions and 1 system design round. Pretty average interview experience for a non-big tech company (expect to write all your own test cases + heavy AI usage from interviewers setting up questions and testing edge cases).
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Boston, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
After a phone call with their technical recruiter there were two remote interviews via collaborative editor and webcam. Then they invited me out to an on-site in Boston where there we did 3 whiteboarding interviews, a conversational interview, and lunch over the course of 5 hours.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write a function that given a series of stock prices, returns the times at which to buy and sell to maximize profit. (+ variations of the question with different details, e.g. one transaction per day/series, multiple transactions but only one in-flight at a time, etc)
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I would encourage you to keep your eye out for other roles that entice you. Our needs are always evolving and we would welcome future discussions with you.
Leetcode style 1 hr technical along with 1 hr behavioral with pretty standard questions. Interviewers were both really nice and hardest part of technical were the follow-up questions but the interviewer was very helpful.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2026
Interview
I scheduled a first round technical interview. Recruiter emailed 2 days later saying position filled. Very disappointing. Phone screen was good descriptive and helpful. Shoukd of flagged rolling hiring. Was for junior engineer role.
