I submitted a resume online in September 2018 and interviewed with a recruiter via phone 2-3 weeks later. The call lasted nearly an hour and went smoothly. They're a home builder and I have a solid background in real estate / construction marketing. My skills and experience matched up well so there were no obvious red flags. I sent a thank you note later that day but heard nothing back. I followed up 10 days later and was told that the hiring manager had been out of the office on vacation; my resume had been forwarded to her for further consideration and that I would hear something soon. From that point I never heard anything more from from Toll Brothers. No additional interviews, no updates on the hiring process and no rejection letter. However, their career site shows my application to still be "under review." At the same time, they have continued to run the exact same job listing regularly for the past 4-5 months. It would have been nice to have some closure. Unfortunately, this seems to be pretty normal for a lot of companies these days. Post a job description and interview for months on end in hopes of finding the ultimate "Purple Squirrel" candidate.
