Got a phone call to set up the first interview for onsite with their VP directly. The reason is that their VP wants to know everything about your resume in the very detail, which is good. But in general, it was the worst interview I ever had. At the very beginning, he asked how many semesters of physics you took, (we both know my background is computer science, not physics), and he was surprised you didn't take 4 semesters of physics. I was like...what? I didn't see any requirements for physics... Later one, he started interrupting you while you were talking your resume and saying that you merely know nothing that he wants. He asked you to prove almost what you've done in the resume by formulating in a mathematic model. He then started saying you were wasting his time because you should explain in 3 sentences. "You should go back to practice your communication skills", he said. He then kept judging you from your resume, what you did, and even your personality, and then he said I will put you shortlisted if I can't find any good candidate, then I will catch up with you. At the end of the interview, he asked, if someone says his/her function run in 10e-16 seconds, how do you feel? I said that would be really fast. He said how fast. I said that should be pretty fast. He said, "see? that the difference between a master student and Ph.D. student". well...so why you choose me to interview? why not just pick a Ph.D. student in this position? Btw, during the whole interview, you will hear "I'm so surprised you don't even know how to use a math to prove your work".
