Applied on company website as I found the job posting on Built In Chicago. Had an introduction call with HR going over the position. Then had a call with an engineer going over my resume from a technical perspective. After that I was given a coding assignment which was basically consume an API and display the data on a UI. Assignment took about 4ish hours which is reasonable. After that had a 2.5 hour interview scheduled virtually as I wasn’t located near their office. First interview was with an engineer and he asked standard behavioral questions. Second interview was with 2 engineers and we went over the coding assignment as well as suggesting improvements. They also threw in a couple software architecture questions and technical questions. Last interview was with an engineering director where you ask any questions regarding the company. After that I got a rejection email 3 weeks later.
