      Sales Interview

      Nov 4, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ToutApp (San Francisco, TX) in Aug 2015

      Interview

Not only one of the strangest interview processes I've had to date, but one of the most unprofessional and disorganized experiences. I was reached out to by ToutApp to interview with them, only to go through several interviews and hear, "the only hesitation we have for you is timing. We aren't ready to bring you on board". So...why reach out and bring me through two rounds of interviews to say this? When they reached back out a month later and said they were in a better position to move forward, I had to start the interview process completely over but ended up having a final round with the CEO and sales mgr personally. A good sign I thought, especially after the CEO pushed the next person interviewing to spend an extra half hour with me. So after spending countless hrs interviewing with them and getting invited back into the office to talk salary, the receptionist sends me one of their automated emails rejecting me as their hire...I've been rejected before, this is not the problem, but their email product (that they used to reject me instead of calling me like a professional would do) had incorrectly populated information into the message, for example: they mentioned how impressed they were with my managerial experience at xyz position and I wasn't even a manager nor was it my last position!!Wow...considering ToutApp is entering a space that is already completely saturated with others doing it better, you would think they'd at least be able to use their own product correctly. Thank god for being rejected!!!

Although this is not something that was easy to read I genuinely thank you for such candid feedback. Feedback is something that makes us all stronger and I can assure you that we are taking this feedback and using it to improve the candidate experience. While we can not change the past this is definitely a learning experience and something we have reflected on quite a bit. Candidate experience is something that is extremely important to me and I hold this to the highest standard. This feedback will be used to shape our candidate experience to make sure that this reflects the ToutApp core values and culture. My email is brooke@toutapp.com. If you are open to chatting live about further areas of improvement, please do not hesitate to reach back out. Thank you again.
