I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toys "R" Us (New York, NY) in Mar 2017
Interview
I was contacted by a "recruiter " and when I called her back she was very curt and said she had to take a few days off and would contact me when she came back then hung up before I could say anything. I was then contacted a month later by another "recruiter " the day before I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and would not have my phone on for a week. When I called that woman back I was told she WAS recruiting for the company but isn't anymore and she hung up. I have worked in retail over 20 years and have been in charge of hiring seasonal associates to Store Managers and every level in between and I can't imagine that level of unprofessionalism being okay. Maybe if you are desperate for a job?? I just don't get the impression that the culture in those stores is anything but miserable.

Pretty chill, hiring manager was pretty laid back, but obviously cared about who he hired. Asked me a few questions that made me ponder for a second. Very good interview process overall.
Interviewed with the store manager. The interview was very informal, but, professional and it covered the important topics. I felt comfortable and after working for them, the job was as described.
