I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toys "R" Us (Wayne, NJ) in Sep 2017
Interview
Contacted by 3rd party recruiter. Had an initial phone screen. Afterwards 2 on-sites - first met with PMO director & VP of Product; 2nd met with a group of Senior Managers.
The interview process was quite chaotic. When I arrived for 1st onsite, the hiring manager was nowhere to be found. I had to hunt her down with both the receptionist & the recruiter. She ended up being 20 minutes late but with no apologies - just explained she was being double-booked. Then I was told the interview was only a 'casual chat' of about 15 minutes each with herself and VP of Product. This despite me taking days off from work and drove to their headquarter in 1 hour one way.
The 2nd onsite was worse. I was told I will meet with the project director & Senior VP of platform, but the people who came out were Senior Managers (on the same level as the role I am being interviewed for). One interviewer only worked there for 3 weeks! The sessions were pretty random and I could see the interviewers didn't have even a few seconds to read my resume beforehand.
A few days after the interview, they wrote back saying they wouldn't move me forward. Reason being I had mentioned differently the name of a scrum ceremony. The whole process was unfortunately hastily setup, with people being constantly late and very much disorganized with last-minute changes of interviewers.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toys "R" Us in Oct 2010
Interview
Hiring and interview process is quite extensive. Meet with an HR representative, future supervisor, and sometimes with 2 or more higher level managers. Be prepared as you may not realize that you are meeting with so many people and can take a couple of hours depending on how many people you meet with.
