I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toys "R" Us (Brooklyn, NY) in Jan 2009
Interview
The interview begins immediately so punctuality is key. There were people who were 5 to 10 mins late but they were let into the interview room. We began with a group interview, I suppose to assess our teamwork and sales skills. We completed puzzles divided into groups of three. I wasn't very vocal because I am very awkward in social situations when I am not used to people. So I suppose that counted against me. We then had to sell the benefits of a ball point pen to the interviewers. Then we were split up in groups of two and the interviewer played the customer, we had to work as a team to sell a babies r us product to the customer. After the group interview, they kept us in a waiting room area waiting for a very long time before they called us for 1 on 1 interviews. They mostly asked behavioral questions what would you do with a difficult customer etc?
Super nice and friendly interviewer. They told me about the company and the position and asked a few questions. They also let me ask some questions at the end as well
Geoffrey was attentive and kind. Guided me through the whole catalog. Would recommend him all the time, every time to whomever will listen. He took the time to explain the great deals.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toys "R" Us (London, England)
Interview
Standard interview with competency questions, especially communication skills, and gauging if candidate would be a good fit for the company culture. After the interview received a call within 2 weeks.
