I was called at the beginning of the week to come do a group interview a few days later. It was being held at the Babies R Us down the road. The interview consisted of 5 women and 2 interviewers, who were very funny and talkative, so in the first 5 minutes, any trace of nervousness I had was gone. We started off by going around and taking marbles out of a bag. For each marble we took, we had to say something about ourselves. After the introductions, we had to be split into groups to build a toy out of legos and then sell it to the interviewers. They were looking for exceptional teamwork, leadership, and communication. I tried to be as cooperative as I could be, even when the interviewers left the room and went to talk to other employees. The next activity was selling a toy we were assigned to someone else in the room. When it came to my turn, I had to sell to both of the interviewers, who were acting as a married couple. I got a pretty easy to sell toy, and it seemed like the interviewers were more interested in acting out their role than actually being sold the toy, but nonetheless, they were the best people to be doing the interviews, because they loosened everyone up so they could show who they really were instead of the canidates being too nervous to actually open up on their own. After selling the toys, they sent us out into the break room to wait for one on one interviews. I was the second one to go in. They asked me basic questions, and then situational ones. Just be willing to keep the customer first all the time, and show that you're interested in having the position. Also, I have a nose & monroe peircing, so I took both of those out before the interview. After the 1:1 they told me that they would be having a few more group interviews and they would let me know if I got the job. The next day, a Friday, the lady called me to tell me I was hired, but they had to wait for the background check to come back and I would hear back from them by Monday or Tuesday. They called back on Tuesday and told me to show up in uniform this coming Friday to fill out paperwork and etc.
