      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trace

      Interview

Was originally contacted by an external recruiter on LinkedIn and began to work together to find a time to meet. Within 2 days of our original conversation, I was told the position was on hold. Went to company website and saw posting was still open, applied and had initial interview scheduled within 24 hours. First interview was with an internal recruiter and were basic questions about my past experiences. Second interview was with CFO who showed up slightly late and seemed annoyed in the interview. Asked numerous questions about my background but consistently interrupted me during my answers, badmouthed my previous employer (one of the most established competitors in the space), and was short in answering the questions that I asked of him at the end of the interview which made me feel like he just wanted to get off the phone. Was a poor experience. Never heard anything back after the interview from anyone at the company.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Trace (Austin, TX) in May 2022

      Interview

NOT A CUSTOMER SUCCESS MANAGER ROLE!!!! Wanted to start this whole thing with that PSA up top. This is NOT a CSM role, this role is measured solely on upsell and sales sales sales. If you want to be an Account Manager, apply, if you are wanting to be a true CSM, do not waste your time like I did. My first two interviews were great, and from what I can gather if you are a CSM for bigger business your role is very much a CSM, but you have to "earn" your spot there by working through a book of business of around 150 clients, you are expected to work evenings and weekends and you are expected to achieve sales, nothing more nothing less. The Trace team was very explicit on this and the entire third interview was essentially one giant red flag that this role isn't what it is advertised as. First step: Screening call Second step: Interview with CSM team Third step: Second interview with CSM team (makes it clear this is a sales role) I wasn't going to take this role, but thankfully I was turned down for the role, presumably because I don't work in sales and have little to no experience as an account manager, so that was a problem solved. Your product looks amazing, and the idea of being a real CSM in this role surrounding soccer analytics is a dream job, but your role is not this, and I am really disappointed in your lack of transparency and honesty when it comes to your "customer success manager" role at Trace.

      Question 1

How experienced are you in sales? What are you best sales targets achieved? How often do you upsell your products?
