I dropped off an application. Several months later I was interviewed by a manager, and hired the same day based on my experience. I was hired to be a demo hostess. I think all the manager should know who is being hired for any specific job so everyone is on the same page. I was told by other coworkers that another manager was hiring for my position. I was put in the cross fire and there was a lot of hostility directed at me because of this situation.
